Banana Slugdom

Some cruel blogs have declared that the BS, or Banana Slug, is the worst college mascot in USA.

I beg to differ. If memory serves I was there when the idea was hatched to have a mascot, even though no teams existed. I was a philosophy major and read, just like Sluggo in the image, a certain author named Plato. Fiat Slug at Uncle Charlie's Summer Camp, UCSC.
