Some cruel blogs have declared that the BS, or Banana Slug, is the worst college mascot in USA.I beg to differ. If memory serves I was there when the idea was hatched to have a mascot, even though no teams existed. I was a philosophy major and read, just like Sluggo in the image, a certain author named Plato. Bill Allayaud, basket ball player, says the Slug thing came after we had left campus. Mid to late 70s?
